Updates on Waving Flag

In Waving Flag my role is to play the kolintang. There have been not much improvement in this process but I believe it will turned out good like the rest of the songs. There needs a lot of practice in this piece since the piano, singing, flute, guitar and especially the drumming haven't been planned or rehearsed. I hope that we can finish the whole song and make sure that we learned the notes and choreography too. We also have tried rehearsing this for a few times and it sounded nice but the guitarist needs to be on tempo, but overall it was really nice.

Updates on Candy

In Candy my role is the kolintang player and I was assigned to be the leader as well, including my friend Stacia and Lala. During this process we need to figure out our own notes and try to teach them to the rest Stacia figured out the first part while I figured out the ending and the chords for the chorus. I had a little help from Mira too. Overall the kolintang sounded really good. There has been a lot of progress, we have managed to learn really fast since we have changed the key a few times from C now to F because the lead singers wanted to sing higher, which is good. Now we have finished to do the run down for this song. Now we are just learning to use our full power and energy and keep the tempo steady.

Additional Roles:
There have been some changer for the piano since it originally started from Mira, then to Si Won and lastly it ended up to Min Jung.

Updates on Greased Lightning

In Greased Lightning my role is a back up singer, I believe that the back up singers and I have done a pretty great job since we have figured out the harmonies and the lyrics that we have to sing on the correct time. Overall the song have came together beautifully to one piece. Over the past few weeks we kept on repeating it and at the end it sounded pretty nice. Through this process there are still some goals that we expect for the future, for example sean and lachlan guitar solo and try to figure out the ending harmonies. Overall it is really nice.

Additional Roles:
Eojin needed help with the chord so Stacia came in and turns out that it is a duet, Eojin melody and Stacia chords.

Reflection

Over the past few weeks there has been a great difference from where we have started. The first song is Greased Lightning so we are rehearsing that a lot. This piece have come together pretty good. All of the instruments have combined and blended quite well. The kolintang was really nice and brought the melody up, I believe that Almira and Nadia did a pretty good job teaching and researching about the notes. The drums, guitars, keyboard and the baritone was really nice. Apart from that the lead singer that is Ochad was really confident to perform it, but to make it more nicer in my opinion is the pronunciation for the lyrics could be clearer. The back up singer was nice but we just need to be more louder nd more confident.

The second song is Candy by Robbie Williams. We have just started rehearsing this, but it was a good start even though we need to figure out for some of the notes that were missing. The singer which were Adam and Hassef were pretty confident and sounded nice. The pianist, guitarist, baritonist and the rest of the instrument was nice and it is getting together. I play as the melody in kolintang. Stacia, Mira and I have figured out most of the notes and thought the rest of the kolintang players what our parts are but we haven figured out the last part of it.

The last song is Waving Flag by K'NAAN. We haven't started at this song at all but I believe it will be a great ending to our whole performance since there will be drums and a surprising chorus since it starts from slow into fast.
